About Yale Lifting
Yale Lifting Solutions is part of the Columbus McKinnon Corporation, a global manufacturer of lifting and material handling equipment. The Yale brand has a long history in industrial lifting and is well established in the UK and European market for manual chain blocks, lever hoists and electric chain hoists. Yale lifting equipment is produced to EN standards for lifting equipment and carries the CE marking required for use in the European Union and UK under the Machinery Directive and the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER).
Yale chain blocks (manual chain hoists) and lever hoists are the standard equipment for maintenance and construction lifting where no permanent or powered hoist is installed. Their compact size, portability and load capacity, with Yale chain blocks available from 250 kg to 50 tonne WLL, make them the practical choice for plant maintenance, construction installation and workshop lifting where a load needs to be moved or positioned rather than simply held.
Yale electric chain hoists are used in workshops, manufacturing and storage facilities where repeated lifting of similar loads justifies the investment in powered equipment. Yale’s mechanical quality, motor reliability and CE certification together make these hoists a practical specification for light-duty to medium-duty workshop and production lifting, from 125 kg up to several tonnes.

Manual chain blocks — YaleHoist and Profi series — Yale YaleHoist and Profi manual chain blocks in capacities from 250 kg to 20 tonne WLL, in standard and low-headroom configurations for different overhead clearances, with Grade 80 load chain and safety-latched top and bottom hooks. All come with individual test certificates and LOLER documentation. They are used for maintenance lifting, construction equipment installation and general workshop lifting where portability matters.
Lever hoists — Yale YL and Liftmaster series — Yale YL lever hoists in 750 kg to 9 tonne WLL for pulling, tensioning, lifting and load securing in any orientation; and Yale Liftmaster lever hoists for demanding applications with higher cycle rates. Because lever hoists work for horizontal and inclined pulling as well as vertical lifting, they are the preferred choice for rigging and tensioning work where a chain block’s vertical-only operation falls short.
Electric chain hoists — Yale CPE and CPF electric chain hoists in 125 kg to 5 tonne capacities for workshop and production lifting, with single-speed and two-speed motor options, pendant push-button control and trolley options for beam mounting and lateral travel. Available in 230V single-phase and 400V three-phase versions, IP55 rated for damp and dusty environments. All are CE marked and supplied with LOLER documentation.
Clamps, shackles and rigging hardware — Yale beam clamps in screw-type and pivoting configurations for attaching chain blocks and hoists to structural steel beams; Yale Grade 80 shackles, eye bolts and swivels across the standard rigging hardware range; and Yale plate clamps and beam clamps for lifting steel plate, beams and structural sections. All carry WLL markings and test certificates for LOLER compliance.

Good to Know
Yale chain blocks must be inspected before each use and formally examined by a competent person every 6 months under LOLER. Check the load chain for wear, stretch and distortion, since a worn chain with elongated links is the most common cause of chain block failure. Yale replacement load chain is available for current Yale hoist models. Get in touch with the hoist model and capacity and we can supply the correct Yale replacement chain with WLL certification.
