About Weldas

Weldas is an American specialist welding protection brand, part of the Steel Grip Inc. group, producing welding gloves, welding PPE and welding blankets for professional welders and metalworkers. Its product development is focused squarely on the demands of welding, not general heat protection but the particular mix of radiant heat, convective heat, spatter, UV radiation and arc flash that welders face during MIG, TIG, MMA and oxy-acetylene work.

Weldas welding gloves come in a range of constructions matched to different welding processes. MIG welding gloves need to balance heat protection, from the hot wire and spatter, with the dexterity required for wire feeding and torch positioning. TIG welding gloves put dexterity ahead of bulk protection, since TIG produces less spatter and the welder relies on tactile feedback for torch control. Heavy-duty MMA and foundry gloves put maximum heat and spatter protection ahead of dexterity.

Weldas’s Duratec and SFW (Soft-Face Welding) glove constructions bring together the heat resistance, spatter resistance and dexterity that set professional welding gloves apart from general industrial heat-resistant gloves. That difference matters in production welding, where a welder may be in their gloves for eight hours a day and needs protection that does not slow them down or compromise their work.

Products We Can Supply from Weldas

MIG welding gloves — Duratec and SFW — Weldas Duratec MIG welding gloves in split leather with a heat-resistant lining for general MIG welding; and Weldas SFW (Soft-Face Welding) gloves with a split leather palm and softer back for better dexterity during MIG wire feeding and positional welding. Both meet EN 12477 Type A for MIG/MMA welding protection and come in sizes S to XXL.

TIG welding gloves — Weldas TIG gloves in thin grain leather for maximum dexterity and tactile feedback during TIG torch control, to EN 12477 Type B for TIG work, where heat and spatter exposure is lower but hand sensitivity is critical for consistent weld quality. Available in left-hand-only versions for the torch hand and in pairs.

Welding jackets and sleeves — Weldas split leather welding jackets for full upper body protection during overhead and positional welding with high spatter and heat exposure; Weldas welding sleeves for arm protection when a full jacket is not needed; and Weldas welding bibs and aprons for lower body protection during bench welding. All meet EN ISO 11611 Class 1 or Class 2 welding protection standards.

Welding blankets and curtains — Weldas fibreglass welding blankets in standard and heavy-duty grades for protecting surrounding surfaces, equipment and people from weld spatter; and Weldas welding curtains in PVC and fibreglass-reinforced fabric for screening welding bays in shared workspaces from UV arc flash and spatter. Available in standard sizes and cut-to-length for bespoke bay screening.

Industries

Weldas welding protection is used by professional MIG, TIG and MMA welders in fabrication shops, structural steelwork, automotive and commercial vehicle bodyshops, foundries, offshore and marine fabrication, maintenance engineering and any professional welding environment where sustained heat and spatter protection is required throughout a working shift.

Good to Know

Using MIG gloves for TIG welding is common but counterproductive: the thick leather and bulky build of MIG gloves make it hard to control a TIG torch with precision, leading to inconsistent arc length and poorer welds. If your TIG welders are reaching for MIG gloves, switching to Weldas TIG gloves will improve their weld quality. Get in touch for Weldas glove pricing across your welding process requirements.
