Uvex Group was founded in 1926 in Fürth, Bavaria, Germany, and has grown into a European PPE manufacturer producing safety eyewear, hearing protection, head protection and safety footwear. The company operates as Uvex Safety, for industrial PPE, and Uvex Sports, for sports protection, both under the Uvex Group umbrella. The safety division is the relevant range for industrial and construction PPE applications.
Uvex sits in the premium tier of the PPE market, with products at a higher specification and price point than budget safety spectacles and disposable ear defenders. That premium is justified by better optical quality, greater comfort, higher impact resistance and stronger safety performance. In industries where eye protection compliance is enforced consistently and the quality of protection matters, such as chemical and pharmaceutical, laboratory, engineering and construction, Uvex holds a credible premium specification alongside 3M and Honeywell.
Uvex safety spectacles use the uvex supravision lens coating, a proprietary anti-scratch and anti-fog treatment applied to both faces of the lens that gives noticeably better optical durability and fog resistance than standard coatings. In hot, humid or dusty environments, where lens fogging tends to undermine compliance with eye protection requirements, the supravision coating is a meaningful practical advantage.

Safety spectacles — pheos and i-series — the Uvex pheos safety spectacles with supravision coating in clear, tinted and mirror lens options; the Uvex i-3 and i-5 wraparound safety spectacles with a panoramic lens for wider peripheral vision; and the Uvex i-vo series for high-comfort extended wear in industrial and construction environments. All are made to EN ISO 16321 (formerly EN166) for impact resistance and are available with UV400 protection and anti-fog coatings.
Safety goggles and face shields — Uvex ultrasonic and ultravision chemical splash goggles for laboratory, chemical and pharmaceutical use where full eye and face sealing is required; and Uvex uvex pheos cx2 and visor-fit face shields for grinding, cutting and chemical splash protection, worn over safety spectacles or on their own. All meet EN166 chemical splash or mechanical impact specifications.
Hearing protection — uvex K and com4-fit — the Uvex K2 and K4 ear defenders in over-helmet and standard configurations with SNR 28 dB to 35 dB attenuation; and the Uvex com4-fit and xact-fit reusable earplugs in comfort foam and flanged silicone constructions to suit different wearing preferences. Helmet-compatible ear defender versions are available for use with uvex safety helmets.
Safety helmets — pheos and i-cap — the Uvex pheos safety helmet to EN 397 in ventilated and non-ventilated versions with an accessory slot system for ear defenders and face shields; the Uvex i-cap for combined head and face protection; and the Uvex XACT-FIT helmet with a 3D adjustable headband for a precise fit across different head shapes. These are available in standard colours with optional contrasting ratchet and accessories.

Good to Know
Safety spectacle lenses should be replaced when they show scratching that impairs vision, crazing of the coating, or after any significant impact event. Uvex supravision lens coating provides better scratch resistance than standard coatings but it is not scratch-proof.
