Trend Machinery and Cutting Tools Ltd is a British woodworking tooling manufacturer based in Watford, Hertfordshire. The company produces the most comprehensive range of router cutters and routing accessories in the UK market: TCT (tungsten carbide tipped) router bits in hundreds of profiles for profiling, grooving, rebating, jointing and decorative routing in solid timber, MDF, melamine and plastics.

Router cutters are a specialist category where the profile geometry and carbide quality directly affect the finished cut. A Trend router cutter with the correct geometry for the material, the right hook angle, relief angle and carbide grade for MDF, hardwood or plastic, produces cleaner edges, lasts longer between sharpenings and causes less tearout than a poorly specified cutter at the same nominal price. TCT router cutters — profiling and grooving. Trend TCT router cutters come in 1/4″ and 1/2″ shank for hand routers and router tables, covering straight, rebate, rounding over, chamfer, ogee, cove, Roman ogee and combination profiles, in solid carbide and tungsten carbide tipped construction, for solid timber, MDF and sheet materials. Trend produces over 500 cutter profiles, the most comprehensive UK router cutter range for professional joinery and woodworking.

Jointing cutters — dovetail, lock miter and biscuit. Trend dovetail cutters rout dovetail slots in drawer construction and stair strings, lock miter cutters form 45° miter joints in box and frame construction, and Trend biscuit jointing router cutters cut biscuit slots with a hand router. The jointing cutter range covers the specialist profiles for the mechanical timber joints that give joinery its structural integrity.

Routing jigs — worktop, stair and hinge. The Trend WP-JIGK worktop jig routs worktop joints at breakfast bars and L-shaped kitchen runs, the Trend CRAFTPRO stair jig routs housings for stair treads and risers into stair strings, and the Trend hinge jigs rout accurate hinge recesses in door frames and door leaves. Each jig gives a repeatable result that would be difficult to achieve freehand.

Router tables and guides. The Trend Professional and Craftsman router tables come in cast iron and aluminium construction for inverted router use in joinery workshop production, supported by Trend router side fences, guide bushes and template guides for hand router work, and by Trend safety equipment including router cutter guards, push sticks and hold-downs for safe router table operation.
