Tohnichi Mfg. Co. Ltd was founded in 1952 in Tokyo, Japan, and has spent its whole history on the design and manufacture of precision torque tools: torque screwdrivers, torque wrenches, torque analysers and calibration equipment for work where torque control is a quality and process requirement, not just a maintenance practice.

The torque screwdriver range is what sets Tohnichi apart from general torque wrench makers. These tools apply a precise, defined torque to small fasteners in the 0.5 Nm to 20 Nm range, and they are essential in electronics assembly, medical device manufacture, precision instrument assembly and anywhere small fasteners must be tightened to exact values to avoid component damage or joint failure. A standard screwdriver cannot do this, because the operator has no feedback on the torque being applied.

Tohnichi torque analysers and calibration equipment let organisations verify the output of their torque tools, including power nutrunners, torque screwdrivers and torque wrenches, against a calibrated reference transducer. This verification is the process control and quality assurance step that keeps torque tool accuracy reliable over time and under production conditions.

Preset torque screwdrivers (RTD and RNTD series). Tohnichi RTD preset click-type torque screwdrivers cover torque ranges from 0.5 Nm to 20 Nm for precision assembly of small fasteners, pre-set to a fixed value and factory calibrated, releasing once the set torque is reached. They are used in electronics PCB assembly, medical device fastening, optical instrument assembly and any work calling for defined low-torque screw tightening, alongside RNTD adjustable torque screwdrivers for applications that need torque range adjustment.

Adjustable torque wrenches (BMQL and QL series). Tohnichi BMQL and QL series click-type torque wrenches come in 1/4″, 3/8″ and 1/2″ drive for general precision assembly, calibrated to JIS B4652 and ISO 6789 with traceable calibration certificates. The BMQL series adds a cam-over mechanism that prevents over-torque once the set value is reached, which is particularly useful in production assembly where consistent torque matters more than the ability to exceed the set value.

Torque analysers and transducers. Tohnichi digital torque analysers (DPQL and TNA series) measure and record the torque output of torque tools, nutrunners and power tools against a calibrated transducer, in ranges from 1 Nm to 3,000 Nm. They are used for quality verification of torque tool performance in production, incoming inspection of new tools and periodic calibration check programmes.

Dial-type and beam torque wrenches. Tohnichi dial-type torque wrenches (RSPLS series) show applied torque in real time on a dial gauge, which suits torque audit work where you need to measure the actual torque on an existing fastener rather than apply a defined value. Tohnichi beam-type torque wrenches offer simple, battery-free measurement where a digital or click-type instrument is not required.
