Schaeffler Group is a German precision engineering company headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria. The group owns the FAG and INA bearing brands, two of the three most respected bearing names globally alongside SKF. FAG (Fischer’s Aktien-Gesellschaft) was founded in 1883 in Schweinfurt and developed the first viable production method for ball bearings, while INA (Industriewerk Nädlager) was founded in 1946 in Herzogenaurach and developed the needle roller bearing cage design that went on to become a global industry standard. Both companies are now part of Schaeffler AG.

FAG bearings are the dominant specification in European industrial equipment, power generation and machine tool manufacturing, a position built on more than 140 years of precision bearing manufacture in Schweinfurt. The FAG 6205, 6206 and related deep groove ball bearings are among the most widely used industrial bearings in European manufacturing, fitted as original equipment and replaced like-for-like in maintenance. INA bearings are just as well established in the automotive sector, in cam followers, engine timing components, clutch release bearings and transmission needle bearings.

The quality standards applied to Schaeffler’s FAG and INA bearing production, including tight internal clearance tolerances, precise raceway geometry and controlled noise and vibration specifications, reflect the demands of their main automotive and machine tool OEM customers. FAG deep groove ball bearings — FAG deep groove ball bearings in the 6000, 6200, 6300 and 6400 series in bore sizes from 10 mm to 200 mm, in open, shielded (Z, 2Z) and sealed (RS, 2RS) configurations. This is the most widely specified bearing type in European industrial machinery, electric motors, pumps, fans and gearboxes. FAG deep groove ball bearings are manufactured to ISO dimensional standards and are directly interchangeable with SKF, NSK and other ISO-dimensioned equivalents at the same designation.
