About Rocol
Rocol is a UK specialist lubricants brand and part of Illinois Tool Works (ITW), producing a focused range of high-performance industrial lubricants, cutting fluids, anti-seize compounds, thread compounds and food-grade lubricants for specific industrial and manufacturing applications. Rocol products are made for jobs where general-purpose lubricants either underperform or are not approved, such as food contact, extreme temperatures, high-pressure thread compounds and precision metalworking.
Rocol’s ASINOX and ANTI-SEIZE pastes are used extensively in the oil and gas, chemical, power generation and heavy engineering sectors for assembling and disassembling threaded joints that are subject to heat, corrosion and galvanic action between dissimilar metals. An anti-seize compound prevents the galling and cold welding between thread surfaces that would otherwise make disassembly impossible without cutting or breaking the fastener, which is essential planning for any bolted connection that will need to be opened in service.
Rocol’s food-grade lubricant range, the FOODLUBE series, carries NSF H1 registration, the US National Sanitation Foundation certification that permits incidental food contact. This certification is the minimum requirement for lubricants used on food processing machinery anywhere on the food contact chain, from raw material handling through to packaging. NSF H1 lubricants are a legal and food safety requirement in UK food manufacturing, and FOODLUBE provides the full range of grades needed across food processing equipment.

Anti-seize and thread compounds — Rocol ASINOX stainless steel anti-seize paste for stainless steel fasteners and high-temperature applications; Rocol ANTI-SEIZE compound in copper, nickel and silver grades for different temperature and corrosion environments; and Rocol THREAD GARD for sealing and lubricating threaded pipe fittings. Anti-seize must be applied to the correct thread surfaces, so get in touch if you need guidance on grade selection for your specific joint.
Cutting fluids — ROCOL RTD and ULTRACUT — the Rocol RTD (Rich Dark Drawing) paste and fluid for tapping, threading and deep drilling of stainless steel, alloy steel and hard metals where standard cutting fluids fall short; and Rocol ULTRACUT soluble cutting fluid for general metal machining in flood coolant systems. RTD is particularly effective on stainless and nickel alloys where work hardening and built-up edge on cutting tools are the main challenges.
FOODLUBE food-grade lubricants — the Rocol FOODLUBE range of NSF H1 registered food-grade lubricants in oil, grease, spray and chain lubricant formats for food processing equipment where incidental food contact is possible. The range spans the full viscosity and application spread, from thin penetrating oils for conveyor chains through to heavy greases for open gears and bearings, with the NSF H1 certification UK food manufacturing requires.
Industrial greases and specialist lubricants — the Rocol SAPPHIRE range of high-performance industrial greases for bearing, gear and slide lubrication in extreme pressure and high-temperature environments; Rocol MULTIWAY lubricant for machine tool slideways; and Rocol MolyGlide molybdenum disulphide paste for high-load, slow-moving interfaces where conventional greases squeeze out.

Good to Know
Anti-seize compound changes the effective torque-tension relationship on a fastener. A torqued joint with anti-seize reaches a higher clamp load than the same torque on a dry thread, because friction is reduced. If you are using Rocol anti-seize on bolted joints with specified torque values, apply the torque de-rating factor from the product data sheet (typically 0.65–0.80 × dry torque). Ignoring it leaves you with over-tensioned joints. Get in touch if you need guidance.
