Our Brands
Ridgid.
An American professional tool manufacturer founded in Elyria, Ohio in 1923, producing pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, pipe threading machines, drain cleaning equipment, press fitting tools and inspection cameras. These are the tools professional plumbers and pipework contractors have specified since the company introduced the first Ridgid pipe wrench in the 1920s.

About Ridgid
Ridgid was founded in 1923 in Elyria, Ohio, by the Ridge Tool Company. The company’s first significant product was a pipe wrench that went on to become the standard in the American plumbing and pipefitting trades, an orangey-red cast iron body with a serrated jaw and knurled ring that remains recognisably the same design a century later. Ridgid is now part of Emerson Electric and operates as a global manufacturer of professional-grade tools for the plumbing, pipefitting, HVAC and mechanical contracting trades.
The Ridgid pipe wrench, available in sizes from 6\” to 60\” and in aluminium, composite and cast iron construction, is the product most associated with the brand worldwide. The jaw serration geometry, spring-loaded upper jaw and distinctive Ridgid body profile combine to produce a gripping action that bites harder under load and releases cleanly when the load is reversed. This self-energising jaw action is what makes a Ridgid pipe wrench perform better than cheap alternatives under the high loads plumbers and pipefitters apply when tightening or breaking loose large screwed pipe joints.
Ridgid’s range extends well beyond pipe wrenches into pipe cutting, pipe threading, drain cleaning, press fitting, pipeline inspection cameras and cordless tool systems designed specifically for the plumbing and pipefitting trades. That breadth means a professional plumbing contractor can equip their operatives across every specialist tool requirement through a single manufacturer relationship.
Products We Can Supply from Ridgid
Pipe wrenches — cast iron, aluminium and compound — Ridgid cast iron pipe wrenches in 6\”, 8\”, 10\”, 12\”, 14\”, 18\”, 24\” and 36\” sizes for all screwed pipe work; Ridgid aluminium pipe wrenches (same capacity, lighter weight) for overhead and sustained-use applications; and Ridgid compound leverage wrenches for breaking loose heavily corroded or over-tightened joints with extra mechanical advantage. We also supply genuine Ridgid replacement jaws and springs for tool servicing.
Pipe cutters and deburring tools — Ridgid pipe cutters in 1/8\” to 6\” cutting capacity for clean, square cutting of copper, steel, stainless, cast iron and plastic pipe; mini pipe cutters (Model 101 and 151) for copper and thin-wall stainless in confined spaces; and Ridgid internal pipe cutters for cutting pipe flush with walls and floors. Most Ridgid pipe cutters include an integrated deburring reamer for finishing the internal edge after cutting.
Pipe threading machines — 300, 535 and 1224 — the Ridgid 300 Compact and 535 motorised pipe threading machines for 1/8\” to 2\” and 1/8\” to 4\” BSP steel pipe threading; and the Ridgid 1224 for large-diameter pipe up to 6\”. Die heads are available in BSP, NPT and metric thread forms, and the carriage-mounted design self-feeds during threading. Ridgid threading machines are the professional specification in UK commercial heating and gas pipework installations.
Drain cleaning machines and inspection cameras — Ridgid K-Series drain cleaning machines (K-45, K-400, K-7500) for clearing blocked drains from 38 mm to 250 mm diameter; and Ridgid SeeSnake inspection camera systems for CCTV drain inspection, pipe location and blockage identification in drainage and sewer systems. Ridgid drain inspection cameras are the most widely used professional pipeline inspection system in the UK drainage sector.
Industries
Ridgid tools are used by plumbers and heating engineers, gas engineers, commercial pipework contractors, drain cleaning contractors, pipeline inspection specialists, HVAC and mechanical contractors, and any professional who works with steel, copper, stainless or plastic pipe in commercial, industrial or domestic pipework installations.

Good to Know
Ridgid pipe wrench jaws and springs are replaceable, so a worn jaw or broken spring is no reason to scrap the whole wrench. Genuine Ridgid jaw sets and springs are available for all current sizes, and with regular servicing a Ridgid wrench body will outlast several sets of jaws, which makes replacement parts a cost-effective maintenance approach. Get in touch with your wrench size and we can supply the correct replacement jaw set.
