About Reisser

Reisser Schraubentechnik GmbH is a German screw manufacturer based in Ingelfingen, Baden-Württemberg. The company produces the R2 woodscrew, a yellow zinc-plated pozi-drive woodscrew whose thread geometry, point design and surface hardness have made it the preferred screw for UK joiners and carpenters who care about what they use.

The Reisser R2 screw has built its UK reputation on three properties that set it apart from generic woodscrews. The CUT-TEC point, a twin-start thread with a sharp cutting tip, drills into timber without pre-drilling in most softwood applications, while the deep ribs between the thread flights clear the material being cut and stop the screw binding. The hardened steel construction reduces cam-out and head stripping when driven with an impact driver. Together these add up to faster, more consistent fastening with fewer failures than cheaper alternatives, which is a meaningful difference for a joiner driving hundreds of screws a day.

Reisser’s broader range covers the specialist requirements that go beyond general woodscrews, including CLIX construction screws for structural timber connections, TURBO decking screws for hidden and face-fix deck board fixing, ANTIQUE screws for hardwood and antique timber restoration, and Reisser Crate Mate storage boxes designed specifically for organising screws in the van or on the workbench.

Products We Can Supply from Reisser

R2 woodscrews — the Reisser R2 yellow zinc-plated pozi-drive woodscrew in diameters from 3.0 mm to 6.0 mm and lengths from 12 mm to 200 mm, available in bulk tubs (200 pc to 1,400 pc) and trade crate boxes. The CUT-TEC point self-drills without pre-drilling in softwood, the deep serrated thread gives fast driving and high withdrawal resistance, and the hardened steel body takes an impact driver without head cam-out.

CLIX construction screws — Reisser CLIX structural timber screws in TX20 and TX25 drive in diameters from 4.0 mm to 8.0 mm for structural timber connections including joist hangers, post bases, timber frame connections and general structural carpentry. The CLIX design combines a partial thread shank, for clamping force between joined timbers, with a self-drilling point for driving without pre-drilling in structural timber thicknesses.

TURBO decking screws — Reisser TURBO decking screws in 4.5 mm diameter in lengths from 50 mm to 100 mm for face-fixing softwood and hardwood deck boards; and ANTIQUE screws in stainless steel and bronze-coloured finish for hardwood decking where a discreet fixing appearance is required. The TURBO countersinking head recesses cleanly into deck board faces without splitting the board edge.

Stainless steel screws and specialist fixings — Reisser stainless steel A2 and A4 woodscrews for external joinery, cladding, fencing and marine applications where corrosion resistance is required; and Reisser Crate Mate screw storage boxes in 8-compartment, 12-compartment and 24-compartment formats for organising screw stocks by size in vans, workshops and site boxes.

Industries

Reisser screws are used by joiners and carpenters, kitchen and bathroom fitters, shopfitters and interior fit-out contractors, structural carpenters, timber frame builders, decking and fencing contractors, general builders and groundworkers, and any tradesperson who drives woodscrews as a core part of their daily work and has found that screw quality makes a measurable difference to speed and results.

Good to Know

For external joinery and cladding, always use stainless steel screws rather than zinc-plated. Zinc-plated screws corrode in external environments within a few years, and the rust staining that follows on light-coloured cladding and hardwood is difficult to remove. The cost difference between R2 yellow zinc and R2 stainless for external work is small next to the cost of putting it right later. Get in touch and we can supply Reisser stainless in the sizes you need.
