About Marcrist
Marcrist International Ltd was founded in 1973 in Birmingham and has specialised in diamond tooling and cutting accessories throughout its history. The company concentrates on the specific tools needed for cutting, drilling and grinding hard construction materials such as concrete, reinforced concrete, natural stone, ceramic, porcelain, engineering brick and block, where conventional abrasive or steel-tipped tooling either cannot do the job or wears out too quickly to be practical.
Diamond tooling works through the controlled exposure of industrial diamond particles held in a metal matrix bond. The diamonds cut the hard material while the bond matrix wears at a controlled rate, continuously exposing fresh diamond particles. The quality of the diamond specification, the bond matrix composition and the manufacturing consistency together decide how fast the blade or bit cuts, how long it lasts and which materials it cuts effectively. By treating diamond tooling as a specialist category, Marcrist has built a product range with technical depth that general tool manufacturers cannot match.
Marcrist products are distributed through builders’ merchants, plant hire and tool hire, and specialist diamond tool suppliers across the UK. The range is used by groundworkers, builders, plumbers, electricians and tiling contractors who drill, cut or grind concrete and masonry as part of their regular work, from 115 mm angle grinder diamond blades through to large-diameter diamond core bits for structural opening work.
Products We Can Supply from Marcrist
Diamond blades for angle grinders and cut-off saws. Marcrist segmented, continuous rim and turbo rim diamond blades come in 115 mm, 125 mm, 230 mm and larger diameters for cutting concrete, block, brick, natural stone and tile. Segmented blades suit fast, dry cutting of concrete and general masonry, continuous rim blades give clean cuts in tiles and natural stone without chipping, and turbo rim blades balance speed against finish quality. Material-specific grades, covering concrete and aggregate, engineering brick, natural stone, ceramic and porcelain, give the best performance in each application.
Diamond core bits. Marcrist diamond core bits run from 22 mm to 200 mm and above for wet and dry core drilling in reinforced concrete, engineering brick, natural stone and masonry. Dry diamond core bits suit cordless core drills and smaller diameter work, while wet-use bits are for mains-powered core drilling rigs where water cooling is available. They are used in electrical installation, plumbing, HVAC and structural opening work wherever a clean, circular hole of a defined diameter is needed.
SDS-plus and SDS-max masonry drill bits. Marcrist SDS-plus and SDS-max masonry drill bits come in carbide tip grades for drilling concrete, block and brick with SDS rotary hammers. They are available in standard, long and extra-long versions, as individual sizes and in sets, and are used by electricians, plumbers and general builders for anchor holes, cable and pipe penetrations and fixings into concrete and masonry.
TCT holesaws and specialist cutting accessories. Marcrist TCT (tungsten carbide tipped) holesaws cut through plasterboard, cement board, fibre cement, render and other composite building materials, while specialist diamond cup wheels and grinding discs handle surface preparation, coating removal and concrete grinding on angle grinders and floor grinders.
Industries
Marcrist diamond tools and cutting accessories are used in groundworks and civil engineering, building and construction, electrical and mechanical installation, tiling and natural stone installation, plumbing and drainage, structural alteration and opening work, and any job that involves cutting, drilling or grinding concrete, masonry, ceramics or hard construction materials.

Good to Know
A diamond blade specified for concrete and aggregate will cut ceramic tiles, but it will chip them badly, because the bond hardness is wrong for the material. A continuous rim tile blade cuts cleanly in ceramic but wears quickly in concrete. Choosing the right diamond blade grade for the material makes a real difference to cut quality and blade life. Get in touch with the material you are cutting and we will confirm the right Marcrist blade or bit for it.
