HiKOKI is the global brand name for what was formerly Hitachi Power Tools, the power tool division of Hitachi Ltd that was sold to KKR in 2017 and relaunched under the HiKOKI name in 2018. The underlying engineering and manufacturing heritage is unchanged: the same Japanese production facilities, the same engineering teams and the same commitment to precision motor manufacturing that made Hitachi power tools a respected professional brand for decades.

The most significant product development under the HiKOKI name is the Multi-Volt battery system. Standard cordless tool platforms run at either 18V or 36V, which means two separate and incompatible battery systems. The HiKOKI Multi-Volt battery operates at 36V in compatible tools and at 18V in standard tools, effectively bridging the two voltage classes from a single battery. For professionals who need 18V tools for everyday tasks and 36V tools for heavy-duty cutting, drilling and grinding, the Multi-Volt platform does away with the need to keep two separate battery inventories.

Multi-Volt 36V/18V cordless tools — the DH36DPA SDS-plus rotary hammer, C3607DA circular saw, G3613DA angle grinder and complementary range of Multi-Volt cordless tools operating at full 36V power from the Multi-Volt battery. Also compatible as 18V tools with standard 18V batteries. The Multi-Volt battery (BSL36A18) bridges both voltages. Particularly suited to professionals who currently use both 18V and 36V tools and want to reduce battery platform complexity.

18V cordless range — the DS18DBSL combi drill, WH18DBDL2 impact driver, CG18DBAL angle grinder and the broader 18V HiKOKI cordless range for general site and workshop use. SDS rotary hammers and demolition tools — the DH28PX and DH40MEY SDS-plus and SDS-max rotary hammer drills for construction drilling and chiselling; the H60MRY and H90SG demolition hammers for heavy concrete breaking.
