About Geocel

Geocel is a UK construction chemicals brand that has built a particularly strong position in the roofing, glazing and exterior weatherproofing markets. Among UK roofers and builders it is best known for the Geocel 2300 flexible silicone sealant, a low-modulus silicone that has become the reference specification in many roofing jobs thanks to its adhesion across wet and contaminated surfaces, its UV stability and its long-term flexibility under the cyclic movement that external sealants have to cope with.

The low-modulus character of the Geocel 2300 and related products matters technically. Low-modulus silicones stay flexible and absorb movement without pulling away from the substrate or cracking the sealant bead. In roofing, where the sealant is exposed to large thermal cycling (the temperature swing between a UK summer day and a winter night can exceed 50°C on a south-facing roof), the flexibility of a low-modulus sealant is the difference between a joint that lasts a decade and one that fails in the first winter.

The Geocel range covers roofing and flashing sealants, frame and glazing sealants, waterproofing sealants, intumescent fire sealants and a number of specialist products for particular applications in the building envelope. Products We Can Supply from Geocel

Geocel 2300 flexible silicone sealant. The flagship product is a neutral cure, low-modulus silicone sealant for roofing, flashing, gutters, skylights, glazing bars, conservatory ridges and any external joint that needs long-term flexibility and weatherproofing. It adheres to metal, GRP, polycarbonate, uPVC, glass, concrete, timber and most roofing substrates. It is available in standard, Trade and Pro 600ml cartridges in a range of colours including clear, white, grey, brown, black and terracotta to match common roofing and cladding materials.

The Plumbers Friend and waterproofing sealants. Geocel The Plumbers Friend is a multi-surface waterproofing sealant for sealing leaks on roofs, gutters, downpipes, pipe penetrations and general weatherproofing repairs. It can be applied to wet surfaces and in damp conditions, which is a genuinely useful feature for repair work that cannot wait for dry weather. Rubberised bitumen and fibred repair sealants are also available for felt and bituminous roofing systems.

Frame and glazing sealants. Neutral cure silicone sealants cover window and door frame installation in timber, aluminium and uPVC, alongside structural glazing silicones for bonded glazing and sanitary silicones for bathroom and kitchen jointing. The neutral cure chemistry avoids the acetic acid release of acetoxy silicones that can corrode metallic window framing and stain natural stone or mirror surfaces.

Intumescent and fire sealants. Geocel intumescent sealants handle fire compartmentalisation, sealing gaps and penetrations in fire-rated walls, floors and ceilings. Intumescent sealants expand when exposed to heat, sealing the joint and maintaining compartmentalisation even after the adjacent materials have burned or collapsed. They are required for compliance with UK Building Regulations Part B in compartmented structures.
