About Genpower
Genpower Ltd is a British supplier of portable power equipment, covering generators, pressure washers and compressors for the UK construction, trades and industrial sectors. The company supplies a practical range of portable power products at pricing that suits the budgets of smaller contractors and trades businesses who need reliable portable power without the capital outlay of premium-branded alternatives.
Portable generators have a specific and lasting role in UK construction and trades work, providing mains-equivalent power where no grid connection exists, or where the grid connection has not yet been established during a new build programme. Battery-powered tools have eased the general dependency on generators for many site jobs, but generators are still essential for equipment that draws too much power for battery alternatives, such as concrete mixers, site lighting systems, pumps, welding equipment, heaters and any other load-heavy operation.
Inverter generators are the right choice for powering sensitive electronic equipment such as laptops, battery chargers and electronic control systems, because they produce a clean sine wave output with stable frequency and voltage. Conventional generators produce a less stable output that can damage sensitive electronics. The Genpower inverter range covers the outputs most commonly needed for site power in the lower load categories.
Products We Can Supply from Genpower
Petrol generators. Open-frame petrol generators run from around 1.0 kW through to 7.5 kW for general construction site and trades use, with single-phase 230V output and standard 13A and 16A socket configurations. The 2.0 kW to 3.5 kW range covers most tool and lighting requirements for small to medium operations, while larger outputs suit concrete mixer, pump and site lighting combinations. Three-phase models are also available for equipment that needs a three-phase supply.
Diesel generators. Diesel-powered generators suit longer-run applications where petrol consumption becomes impractical, or where diesel is the preferred site fuel for safety or logistics reasons. Diesel generators are generally more economical per running hour than petrol at sustained outputs, and they are the standard choice for standby power, remote site operations and agricultural use where the generator runs for extended daily periods.
Inverter generators. Compact, lightweight inverter generators in the 1.0 kW to 2.0 kW output range suit sensitive electronics, battery charging, site offices and any job where noise and clean power output matter more than maximum output. They are considerably quieter than open-frame generators and much lighter, which makes them practical to transport in a van or pickup without a dedicated equipment trailer.
Pressure washers and air compressors. Petrol and electric pressure washers handle site cleaning, vehicle washing, equipment cleaning and surface preparation, while portable air compressors power pneumatic tools and tyre inflation on site. Both ranges complement the generators for contractors who would rather source their portable site power and maintenance equipment from a single supplier.
Industries
Genpower products are used in construction and building, agricultural and rural maintenance, outdoor events and catering, remote site operations, groundworks and civil engineering, facilities management, and any job that needs portable power generation away from a grid connection or as standby backup to grid supply.

Good to Know
Generator sizing should leave headroom above the maximum connected load. Motors and compressors draw far more current at startup than when running, and an undersized generator will stall or overload on startup peaks. A concrete mixer rated at 1.2 kW running typically needs a 3.0 kW or larger generator to start reliably. Send us your connected equipment list and we’ll advise on the right generator output.
