About Flex Power Tools

Flex-Elektrowerkzeuge GmbH was founded in 1922 in Steinheim an der Murr in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The company has concentrated on professional power tools throughout its history, with a particular strength in surface finishing tools such as angle grinders, polishers and surface treatment machines. Flex remains an independent, privately owned German manufacturer, which is worth noting in a market where most power tool brands have been folded into large international groups.

Flex is best known internationally for its polishers, and in the automotive detailing and stone polishing markets the Flex name is effectively shorthand for a professional rotary polisher. The L3403 VRG rotary polisher has been the reference machine for professional vehicle paint correction and polishing for years, and you will find it in body shops, detailing studios and stone fabrication workshops across Europe and beyond. The motor quality, steady speed under load and ergonomics of Flex polishers have built the brand’s reputation against rivals with far bigger marketing budgets.

The wider Flex range covers angle grinders for metalworking and construction, wall chasers for cutting cable and pipe slots in masonry, planers, drills and surface grinding machines. They all share the same engineering quality as the polishers. Flex motors are built for sustained professional use rather than the occasional job, and the tool design reflects decades of hands-on experience in demanding working environments.

Products We Can Supply from Flex Power Tools

Rotary polishers. The Flex L3403 VRG and PE14-2-150 rotary polishers sit at the heart of the professional polisher range. The L3403 is a variable speed rotary polisher for paint correction, machine polishing and final polishing of vehicle paintwork, while the PE14-2 is a larger-diameter machine suited to stone, marble, granite and solid surface polishing. Both use motors wound for continuous professional use that hold a consistent speed under pad pressure in a way that budget polishers simply cannot. Backing plates, foam pads and polishing accessories are available.

Dual-action (random orbital) polishers. The Flex XCE and XFE series eccentric and random orbital polishers allow safer paint correction with less risk of swirl marks than rotary polishers. The random orbital movement makes them more forgiving for less experienced users while still delivering effective cut when paired with the right pad and compound. They are widely used in production body shops and detailing operations where consistent results across several operators matter.

Angle grinders. The Flex L3310 and related angle grinders come in 115 mm and 125 mm disc formats for metalworking, grinding and surface preparation. Flex angle grinder motors are built to sustain continuous operation in fabrication and construction environments, holding speed steadily under cutting load.

Wall chasers. The Flex CS and CHE series wall chasers cut precise cable and pipe channels in brick, blockwork and concrete walls. The dual-blade configuration and dust shroud produce a clean, consistent channel with dust captured at source, which helps both with dust exposure compliance and with keeping the site tidy. Electricians, plumbers and heating engineers use them for first-fix concealed cable and pipe runs.

Industries

Flex Power Tools are used in automotive bodyshop and paint correction, professional vehicle detailing, stone and marble fabrication and polishing, kitchen and bathroom worktop installation, general metalworking and fabrication, construction and electrical installation, and any environment where professional-grade surface finishing or power tool performance is part of the daily routine.

Good to Know

Rotary polishers cut faster and more aggressively than random orbital polishers, which makes them the right choice for paint correction on heavily oxidised or badly swirled paintwork. They do take more skill to avoid burning through paint on edges and high spots. Random orbital machines are safer for less experienced operators and suit finishing and light correction. If you are specifying for a production bodyshop, get in touch and we can advise on the right Flex model for the job.
