About Evolution

Evolution Power Tools was founded in Sheffield, a city whose identity has been bound up with steel cutting and fabrication for centuries. The founding idea was a circular saw blade and saw design that could cut through ferrous and non-ferrous metals without producing the heat, sparks or swarf that come from conventional abrasive cutting discs or metalworking blades. The RAGE multi-material blade uses a high tooth count, tungsten carbide tipped design that shears through steel and aluminium rather than grinding them, giving a cold cut with a clean, burr-free edge and chips instead of hot sparks.

In practice this matters a great deal. A conventional circular saw with a wood-cutting blade cannot safely cut steel sections. An abrasive chop saw will cut steel but throws off plenty of heat and sparks and leaves a rough edge that needs grinding. An Evolution RAGE saw with a multi-material blade cuts steel box section, steel angle, copper tube, aluminium extrusion and timber, including timber with nails in it, all on the same blade and without changing setup. For construction workers, roofers, plumbers, steel fixers and general building trades who work across mixed materials, that genuinely changes what one machine can do on site.

Evolution has grown from those circular saw roots into a full range of RAGE multi-material tools, including mitre saws, table saws, reciprocating saws and track saws, as well as FURY and F-series tools in more conventional configurations. The brand is now widely distributed in the UK through trade merchants and power tool retailers, and it has built a strong following among construction trades who have taken to multi-material cutting as a practical alternative to carrying separate tools for different materials.

Products We Can Supply from Evolution

RAGE multi-material circular saws include the RAGE 3 and RAGE 6-B in 185 mm blade format, cutting mild steel up to 6 mm thick, aluminium up to 12 mm, and timber and timber with nails. The RAGE 6-B adds a bevel function for angled cuts, and both corded and cordless variants are available. On a site where the materials being cut change from job to job, one of these replaces several specialist cutting tools with a single versatile platform.

RAGE and F-series multi-material mitre saws include the RAGE 3-S (305 mm), RAGE 5-S and related compound mitre saws for cutting steel tube, angle iron, aluminium sections and timber in a bench-mounted format with accurate angle adjustment. They are increasingly used in place of cold-cut chop saws in fabrication, thanks to the cleaner cut quality and lower noise. TCT-only metal cutting versions are also available.

Multi-material table saws combine multi-material cutting with a rip fence and mitre guide for sheet material and section cutting in the workshop. They are used in light fabrication, shopfitting, construction workshops and contractor operations that process mixed material orders regularly.

Multi-material replacement blades are Evolution TCT multi-material blades in 185 mm, 210 mm, 255 mm and 305 mm diameters to fit Evolution saws and many third-party circular and mitre saw platforms. They are sold separately for anyone who wants to add multi-material capability to a saw they already own.
