Our Brands
DeWalt.
An American power tool manufacturer founded in 1923, now part of Stanley Black & Decker, and one of the most widely used professional power tool brands in UK construction. It is known for the breadth of its 18V and FLEXVOLT cordless platform and the durability of its tools under sustained site use.

About DeWalt
DeWalt was founded in 1923 by Raymond DeWalt in Leola, Pennsylvania. DeWalt invented the radial arm saw, a machine that brought the saw to the workpiece rather than requiring the workpiece to be moved across a blade, and the company built its early reputation on this and related woodworking machinery. Black & Decker acquired DeWalt in 1960, and the brand was relaunched in 1992 as a dedicated professional power tool range, positioned to compete with Makita and other professional market specialists. The relaunch, with its distinctive yellow and black colour scheme, proved highly successful, and DeWalt is now one of the highest-profile professional power tool brands in the UK and globally.
The DeWalt brand sits within the Stanley Black & Decker group, which also owns Stanley, Irwin, Lenox and other tool brands. DeWalt’s particular positioning is at the professional end of the market, aimed at tradespeople, contractors and industrial users who use power tools daily rather than occasionally. The product design reflects this. DeWalt tools are typically built to withstand the drops, vibration, dust and moisture that construction and industrial site use involves, and the warranty programme, which includes a 3-year limited warranty and 1-year free service on most products, reflects confidence in that build quality.
The DeWalt 18V XR and FLEXVOLT battery platforms are two of the most extensive cordless tool ecosystems available from a single manufacturer. The 18V XR platform covers the standard range of portable professional tools, while FLEXVOLT uses a dual-voltage battery (20V/60V in US terms, 18V/54V in European terms) that auto-switches depending on whether it is in an 18V or 54V tool. That allows a single battery to work across the full range, from compact combi drills to high-capacity reciprocating saws, table saws and large-diameter angle grinders.
Products We Can Supply from DeWalt
Cordless drills, combi drills and impact drivers include the DCD and DCF series 18V XR combi drills and impact drivers, among the most commonly used tools on UK construction sites. The brushless motor variants (XR Brushless) offer much better runtime and motor longevity. The DCD996 three-speed combi drill is a reference product in the range for its torque output and versatility, while the DCF887 and DCF888 impact drivers are widely used for timber fixing and screw driving.
SDS rotary hammers and demolition tools include the DCH and DCE series 18V and 54V FLEXVOLT SDS-plus and SDS-max rotary hammers for concrete drilling and light breaking. The DCH481 54V FLEXVOLT SDS-max handles heavy concrete applications where a cordless alternative to a mains rotary hammer is now practical. Corded SDS tools are also available for sustained high-output drilling.
Circular saws, jigsaws, reciprocating saws and mitre saws cover the DCS and DWS series of cordless and corded saws for timber and sheet material cutting. The DWS780 double-bevel sliding mitre saw is a benchmark product in the site and workshop mitre saw market, and the 54V FLEXVOLT circular saws and table saws bring the cutting capacity previously only available from mains-powered machines.
Angle grinders, sanders and tool storage cover the DCG and DCS series 18V and 54V angle grinders in 115 mm, 125 mm and 230 mm disc sizes, random orbital and detail sanders for finishing work, and the DeWalt TSTAK and ToughSystem modular tool storage and transport systems for organising and moving a professional tool kit on site.
Industries
DeWalt power tools are used in general construction and site work, joinery and carpentry, electrical installation, plumbing and heating, flooring and tiling, roofing, interior fit-out and refurbishment, steel fabrication, facilities management, and virtually every building and construction trade in the UK. The FLEXVOLT platform in particular is used in applications where mains-equivalent cordless power was previously impractical.

Good to Know
The FLEXVOLT dual-voltage system means a single set of batteries works across both 18V standard tools and the higher-output 54V tools, so if you are already on the DeWalt 18V platform, adding FLEXVOLT tools doesn’t mean a separate battery investment. If you are planning a cordless kit around FLEXVOLT, get in touch and we can advise on the battery combination that makes sense for your tool mix.
