About CT1

CT1 is the flagship product of C-Tec NI Ltd, a company founded by Billy Lorimer in Cookstown, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The business was built around a single, well-differentiated product: a hybrid polymer sealant and adhesive with properties that standard silicones, polyurethanes and MS polymers do not match. Being able to apply CT1 to a wet or even submerged substrate and still achieve a reliable seal and bond was the founding product claim, and it is one the trades who use it daily have proven for themselves.

CT1’s formulation is based on a hybrid polymer system that combines adhesive properties, flexibility, UV stability and resistance to water, chemicals and temperature extremes in a single product. Unlike silicone, it is paintable. Unlike most PU sealants, it performs in wet conditions during application and curing. Unlike grab adhesives, it also seals. That unusual combination explains why the product has developed such a strong following in plumbing, roofing, marine and general building trades, where conventional sealants run into practical limitations.

The CT1 range has expanded beyond the original sealant and adhesive to include companion products for surface preparation, fixing and cleaning. Pinkgrip is their instant grab adhesive for rapid fixing, while MultiSolve is a solvent-based cleaner and debonder for removing sealant, adhesive and other contaminants from surfaces and tools. Together the range covers the complete bonding and sealing process rather than just the application step.

Products We Can Supply from CT1

CT1 hybrid polymer sealant and adhesive is the original and best-known product. It applies and cures on wet surfaces and underwater, bonds most building materials including metal, glass, tiles, stone, concrete, plastics and timber without a primer, is paintable once cured, and stays flexible across a temperature range of -40°C to +120°C. Plumbers often call it the ‘snag list eliminator’ because it solves sealing and bonding problems that other products cannot tackle on a wet or recently used system. It is available in multiple colours including clear, white, grey, brown and black.

Pinkgrip grab adhesive is a high-grab instant adhesive in cartridge format for fixing cladding, panels, skirting boards, architraves, insulation boards and similar building materials. The pink colour is distinctive but fades after application, and it is specifically formulated for compatibility with Styrofoam and polystyrene materials that solvent-based grab adhesives tend to attack.

MultiSolve solvent cleaner and debonder is a multi-purpose solvent for removing CT1, silicone, grease, bitumen, adhesive residue and general contamination from surfaces, tools and clothing. It is safe on most plastics when used as directed, and it works both for surface preparation before CT1 application and for cleanup and tool maintenance afterwards.

CT1 Bond structural adhesive is a high-strength structural adhesive for bonding metal, glass, ceramics and composite materials where the bond must carry significant loads in tension or shear. It is used in glazing, metalwork, signage and structural bonding applications where mechanical fastening would be impractical or undesirable.

Industries

CT1 products are used in plumbing and heating installation, roofing and cladding, general building and construction, bathroom and kitchen fitting, marine and boating, agricultural building maintenance, glazing and fenestration, facilities management, and any application where conventional sealants struggle with wet application conditions, substrate adhesion or paintability.

Good to Know

Plumbers particularly value CT1 for sealing pipe penetrations and fittings on systems that cannot be fully drained and dried before work begins, a common real-world constraint that silicone sealants handle poorly. If you are dealing with a sealing problem on a wet system and conventional products haven’t worked, CT1 is usually the right next step.
