About CK Tools

CK Tools is the professional hand tool brand of Carl Kammerling International (CKI), a British company that has been supplying tools to UK trades since 1947. The CK brand has built a strong reputation in the electrical and telecoms installation sectors, where the specific tools needed, such as VDE-insulated pliers and screwdrivers, cable preparation tools, wire strippers, cable strippers and termination tools, demand a level of quality and precision that general-purpose tool brands don’t always prioritise.

The VDE range is the centrepiece of the CK offering for electricians. VDE (Verband der Elektrotechnik) certification means the tool has been individually tested to 10,000V and is rated for safe use on live conductors up to 1,000V AC or 1,500V DC. That is far from a theoretical safety rating. It is a legal requirement for work on or near live conductors under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, and the quality of the insulation matters. CK’s VDE tools use dual-component insulation that provides both dielectric protection and impact and grip performance, and the certification is backed by individual testing rather than batch sampling.
