Our Brands
Bosch Professional.
A German engineering company founded in Stuttgart in 1886, whose Professional blue-branded power tools are among the most widely used in UK construction and trades. They are recognised for a depth of product and breadth of battery platform that few competitors have matched.

About Bosch Professional
Robert Bosch GmbH was founded in Stuttgart in 1886 by Robert Bosch, at first as a workshop for precision mechanics and electrical engineering. The company’s early work in automotive ignition systems, in particular the magneto ignition for internal combustion engines, established both the technical reputation and the financial footing for what became one of the largest engineering companies in the world. Today the Bosch Group employs over 400,000 people and operates across automotive technology, industrial technology, consumer goods, and energy and building technology.
The power tools division runs under two distinct brand identities: Bosch Professional (blue) and Bosch DIY (green). These are not lightly differentiated versions of the same product. They are genuinely separate product lines designed for different uses. Bosch Professional tools are engineered for sustained daily use in a trades or construction setting, while Bosch DIY tools are made for the consumer market where use is occasional. The Tool & Gauge Company supplies the Professional range.
The Bosch Professional 18V battery system is one of the most extensive and mature cordless platforms in the professional market. Batteries and chargers work across the full range of 18V Professional tools, so a tradesperson building a cordless kit can standardise on one battery platform and share batteries between drills, saws, grinders, sanders and specialty tools. The PROFACTOR 18V line, aimed at heavier applications that would usually need mains power, extends the platform further still.
Products We Can Supply from Bosch Professional
SDS-plus and SDS-max rotary hammers. The GBH series SDS-plus rotary hammers are the most commonly specified Bosch Professional tool in UK construction, from the compact GBH 18V-26 cordless through to the mains GBH 5-40 DCE and larger models for heavy concrete work. The SDS-max range covers structural demolition and anchoring in reinforced concrete. Bosch’s vario-lock chuck system on SDS tools lets the chisel lock in 12 positions, a genuinely useful feature in confined breaking work.
Combi drills and impact drivers. The GSB (combi drill) and GDR/GDX (impact driver) 18V ranges are workhorses of the UK building trades. Brushless motor variants (marked ‘B’ in the model designation) offer markedly better runtime per charge and longer motor life than brushed equivalents. The 18V combi drill range runs from compact to heavy-duty models for different applications.
Circular saws, jigsaws and reciprocating saws. The GKS circular saw range in both 18V cordless and mains variants, the GST jigsaw range with pendulum action for fast cutting in timber and sheet materials, and GSA reciprocating saws for demolition and cutting in place. The cordless 18V versions of these tools are now practical alternatives to mains equivalents for most site work.
Angle grinders. The GWS series angle grinders in 115 mm, 125 mm and 230 mm disc sizes, in both 18V cordless and mains configurations. The GWX 18V-15 C PROFACTOR is the cordless equivalent of a 230 mm mains grinder and handles heavy cutting and grinding tasks that previously needed mains power.
Measuring and detection tools. GLM laser measures, GCL and GPL laser levels, D-TECT wall scanners and GMS stud detectors. The Bosch Professional measuring range is extensive and includes some of the most practical and accurate measuring tools at their respective price points in the UK market.
Industries
Bosch Professional tools are used in general construction and groundworks, joinery and carpentry, electrical installation, plumbing and heating, flooring and tiling, plastering and drylining, roofing, facilities management, industrial maintenance, steel fabrication, and virtually every other building and construction trade in the UK. The breadth of the range means Bosch Professional can equip a multi-trade construction project from a single supplier.
