Abracs — professional tools and equipment, UK trade supplier

About Abracs

Abracs is a British abrasives company that has become one of the more practical options for professional and trade buyers in the UK. It sits between the budget end of the market and the premium European manufacturers, offering consistent quality at prices that make sense for volume purchasing. The range is broad enough to handle most abrasive requirements across metalworking, construction and general workshop use without having to go to several suppliers.

The product catalogue covers bonded abrasives (grinding and cutting wheels), coated abrasives (sanding belts, sheets, discs and rolls), non-woven surface conditioning products, and specialist items including flap discs, fibre discs and wire brushes. The range is manufactured to relevant EN and ANSI standards and carries the appropriate safety certifications for use on angle grinders, bench grinders and other powered tools.

For buyers who go through significant quantities of abrasive consumables, such as fabrication shops, bodyshops, site contractors and maintenance teams, Abracs is a reliable choice where the consistency between batches matters as much as the initial performance. Running out of cutting discs mid-job because the last batch was undersized or inconsistent is exactly the kind of problem a reputable manufacturer’s product avoids.

Products We Can Supply from Abracs

Cutting discs — available in diameters from 115 mm to 355 mm for angle grinders and chop saws, in thicknesses from 1.0 mm ultra-thin to standard 3.2 mm. Metal and inox (stainless steel) variants are available. Thin cutting discs reduce heat build-up and material waste, which matters in stainless steel fabrication where discolouration at the cut edge indicates heat input.

Grinding discs — depressed centre grinding wheels in aluminium oxide and zirconia alumina formulations, for general mild steel grinding through to hard alloys. Zirconia wheels run cooler and last significantly longer on harder materials, which makes them the more economical option despite the higher unit cost.

Flap discs — Type 27 (flat) and Type 29 (angled) flap discs in aluminium oxide, zirconia and ceramic grain options, across a range of grits from 40 to 120. Flap discs are generally preferred over grinding wheels for weld dressing, surface blending and preparation work where a finer finish is needed alongside material removal.

Sanding belts, sheets and rolls — coated abrasives in aluminium oxide, silicon carbide and zirconia, for use on belt sanders, orbital sanders, random orbital sanders and by hand. Available in a wide range of standard dimensions and grits for wood, metal and composite finishing.

Non-woven surface conditioning products — Scotch-Brite style surface conditioning discs, hand pads and rolls for cleaning, finishing and deburring without removing significant material. Useful in stainless steel fabrication, aerospace component work and any application where scratch pattern and surface finish are important.

Industries

Abracs products are used in metal fabrication and structural steelwork, automotive bodyshop and refinishing, construction and groundworks, general engineering workshops, plumbing and pipework installation, roofing and cladding, MRO and facilities maintenance. Any trade or industry that cuts, grinds, shapes or finishes metal, stone, concrete or composite materials is likely to have a use for part of the Abracs range.

Good to Know

Abracs cutting discs for stainless steel are clearly marked ‘Inox’. It matters to use the correct type, as standard aluminium oxide discs can contaminate the cut edge and lead to corrosion. If you’re ordering for mixed use, let us know and we can advise on which variants to stock.
